Mary Beth Norton speaks about Doing History “To the Revolution!”

Mary Beth Norton speaks about “Doing History” as part of the ICYMI series  “Doing History: To the Revolution!”

Martha Howard, Director of Conferences and Communications for Omohundro Institue of Early American History & Culture, write in a recent announcement:

We are excited to announce a second year of collaboration with Liz Covart, creator of Ben Franklin's World, in 2017.

Professor Mary Beth Norton kicked off the season early. Building on her recent article in the William and Mary Quarterly, Professor Norton asks what drove Bostonians to destroy the tea they found and whether they considered any other less destructive options for their protest.

Fans of Doing History Season 1 will recognize the theme of demonstrating how differently scholars approach, understand, and portray events but will find the distinctions even more striking as the conversations all will center on the same topic: the American Revolution.

Listen to Professor Norton's podcast and learn the back story of tea's significance to the American Revolution.
