Henry Lyu Cheng

Overview

Henry (He/They) is a first-year Ph.D. student at Cornell’s history department. As a social historian in training, Henry’s research concentrates on the history of P.R.China in the global context and Chinese diaspora. Henry has very wide academic interests including the history of grassroots movements, social justice, and gender & sexuality in the global 1960s-70s with a specific concentration on the cases of China and Asian American communities. Henry is listed as one of the Reppy Fellows 2023-24 AY. Henry is a proud alumnus of the University of Chicago and the University of California, San Diego.
